Fight On!

California Trip - Day 3

What California trip would be complete without a visit to USC's campus? Friday morning we packed up the Jag, got our Sbux and headed N on I-5 towards LA. We are lucky enough to get in a visit just about every time we are home, but the more amazing thing is how much the campus changes between each visit. The new film school is finally completed and it is gorgeous! Such great memories of visiting friends at SC, I cannot imagine how it must feel for Caleb to go back. But one thing we both agree on - we miss college! In all the times we have been there (post college) we have never really done a 'photoshoot' of the beautiful campus so we did a mini one and here are some of the shots from the day ...

Continuing our walk down memory lane we headed to Engine Co. for lunch. For those of you who don't know, Caleb worked at Engine Co Restaurant (how fitting, right?) while he was attending USC. He started as a host and then moved up into waiting tables and even bartending on occasion. The restaurant itself is an actual old firehouse and it still has all of the amazing charm - there is a brass poll in the back, the ceilings are tin stamped and they have kept some of the original leather helmets and other neat knick-knacks around to give it that 'engine house' feel. Every time we visit, Caleb is greeted with open arms as most of the staff he worked with is still there (and actually has been with the restaurant for 15+ years.) We love going back whenever we are in LA, and the amazing food doesn't hurt either! :)

From Engine Co we hopped onto Highway 101 heading West, destination, Solvang.
